Elliott Wedding

We snuck away to a nearby pond to shoot the bride and groom portraits. It allowed us to capture memorable images of them without distractions. Because it is the bride’s and groom’s special day, I want to make their shots a priority. I am pleased with how the portraits turned out from this small intimate wedding located in Barbourville, Kentucky.

They tell you not to post things that you do not want to shoot so I do not have any wedding photos on my website. This is because as I mentioned in my “About Me” section, I am only doing things that truly turn my crank. I realized that being a 10-12 hour wedding day photographer is not my thing. I have done them, but I can’t say that I loved doing them. I don’t have the attention span to be focused upon 1 thing for that long!! I also found that in the craziness of the day, lists of don’t forget to shoot shots, massive family and bridal party shoots…that there was very little time to be creative and shoot the bride & groom. That was the part that I enjoyed the most and it seemed to be the part that got the rushed up short end of the stick. I also do not like trusting memory cards and technology. The thought of losing the shots from someone’s wedding day is really stressful. There are no do-overs with weddings.

When I was approached about doing Colby and Payton’s wedding, I knew that I would enjoy it. It was small, intimate and ended up being a 4 hour shoot. I know that this is the opposite of what most photographers are desiring. Hey…I am an odd bird. I have already confessed to not liking social media which most people do not get. Therefore, my not desiring the 10-12 hour wedding opportunities shouldn’t shock you. The 3 of us snuck away to a pond nearby where we could focus on just the 2 of them. Because I do love portraits, I am sharing a few of my favorite shots from Payton & Colby’s special day. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of it Mr. & Mrs. Elliott! I truly mean that.
